Constitutional Amendment Alabama The constitution of the State of Alabama shall be amended to include: Art. I, § 1: That all natural persons are equally free and independent; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Art. I, § 6 (in part). Rights of accused: no natural person shall be compelled to give evidence against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, except by due process of law.
